Nearly 2 weeks after a fatal shooting at a motel in Stanton, police arrested a suspect in Bakersfield.

The homicide occurred on August 26, 2019, at the Villa Motel, located at 11672 Beach Boulevard. At around 1:15 PM, police received a call that someone had been shot, according to Orange County Sheriff’s Department’s press release. Upon arrival, police discovered an adult male victim in a motel room. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, despite efforts made to revive him.

Orange County Sheriff’s investigators worked tirelessly to track down the murder suspect. Once they located him in Bakersfield, they collaborated with the Kern County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team in making the arrest on September 8th.

“The suspect arrested today is believed to have been involved, and then fled the Orange County area following the incident,” stated the release. “The suspect will be identified after he has been transported back to Orange County and booked into the Orange County Jail.”
