Two men committed an armed robbery at a Rancho Cucamonga Cricket Wireless store and enjoyed a short-lived escape before their arrest.

At about 3:30 PM on Wednesday, August 28, 2019, police responded to a report of an armed robbery at a Cricket Wireless store, located at 8130 Vineyard Avenue.

The suspects wielded a black handgun as they demanded cash, then made a quick getaway in a Silver Nissan Altima that had a temporary California license plate.

Police found out the name and address under which the vehicle was registered and then drove over to the residence, which was located near the Cricket Wireless. When they arrived at the residence, they found the suspects still inside the car.

Police arrested the two men, identified as 23-year-old Armonte Rashad Gary of Rosamond and 28-year-old Alontae Shawndel Short of Los Angeles. They were booked into West Valley Detention Center on $100,000 bail.
