Santa Rosa man allegedly threatens neighbor with gun over fireworks

SANTA ROSA — A Santa Rosa man has been arrested on suspicion of drunkenly threatening his neighbor with a gun over fireworks.

Police say that just before 10 PM last Friday, August 16th, they received a call from the 4700 block of Parktrail Drive alleging that Jeremy Finnerty, 47, had come out of his house after hearing an explosion of fireworks, brandishing a firearm and making death threats against his neighbor.

The neighbor fled, at which time Finnerty, reportedly under the influence of alcohol, broke into the house through a back door.

Responding officers detained Finnerty, who was not cooperative, and found a firearm on his person.

He was eventually arrested and booked on charges of residential burglary, vandalism, brandishing a firearm, criminal threats, public intoxication, and resisting arrest.
