Woman Arrested After Trespassing Call Escalates To Struggle Over Officer’s Rifle

FOLSOM — A 43-year-old woman has been arrested after what began as a simple trespassing call escalated to a struggle over an officer’s rifle.

Just after 9 AM on Sunday, August 25th, police responded to the 300 block of Natoma Street regarding a woman who had reportedly entered the caller’s mobile home and was refusing to leave.

Once officers arrived, the woman — identified as Ann Hontz of Folsom — allegedly jumped into the back seat of a patrol vehicle and tried to remove the officer’s rifle from its mount.

A struggle ensued, during which Hontz was able to dislodge a live round from a secondary magazine. She ultimately had to be subdued with a taser.

She has since been booked into the Sacramento County Jail for resisting arrest and attempting to disarm an officer.
