FOLSOM — Local police have announced the arrest of three vehicle burglary suspects this past weekend.

Just before 4 AM on Saturday, August 10th, a resident called 911 after investigating a car alarm and spotting a suspicion suspicious person walking away and getting into a car.

Responding officers found the car and detained the driver, identified as 42-year-old David Hennessy of Sacramento, but discovered he was not the person who’d been seen earlier.

Another resident soon called to report a man rummaging through an unlocked vehicle, with a woman accompanying him.

Officers found and detained the pair — 39-year-old Marissa Marie Lopez and 26-year-old Casey James Schmidt, both of Sacramento — and determined that the two had been in Hennessy’s car, and that Schmidt had been the person seen fleeing from the car alarm.

All three were arrested and booked into the Sacramento County Jail — Schmidt on suspicion of burglary, conspiracy, possession of burglary tools, prowling, and violation of probation; Hennessy on suspicion of conspiracy, prowling, and violation of probation; and Lopez on suspicion of conspiracy and prowling.
