REDDING — Three people have been arrested after a probation search due to a felony warrant led to the discovery of guns, drugs, and ammunition.

A Redding police officer had been on patrol in the Hilltop Drive hotel corridor on August 12th when, at around 2 AM, he spotted a silver Mitsubishi Galant with expired registration and conducted an enforcement stop at Churn Creek Road, near Cypress Avenue.

The Galant’s occupants were identified as Amanda Stout (26) and Ruben Gonzales (30), both from Redding, and David Schmidt-Pike (46) of Portland, OR.

Gonzales turned out to be on probation with a felony warrant out for his arrest, prompting a search of the vehicle.

Said search turned up a loaded 9mm Glock with three fully loaded high-capacity magazines, about two-and-a-half ounces of suspected methamphetamine, and other drug paraphernalia.

All three were arrested for various drug and weapons charges and booked at the Shasta County Jail.
