VACAVILLE — On the afternoon of August 8th, officers responded to a call of a person in distress and ended up arresting said person after catching him with a homemade “zip gun.”

Police found 33-year-old Gilberto Trigales of Vacaville lying on the sidewalk and convulsing, exhibiting clear signs of intoxication.

As they spoke to him, he appeared to become increasingly nervous.

When they searched him, they discovered a “zip gun” — an improvised, spring-loaded device designed to carry and fire a single handgun round.

In light of such a discovery, Trigales was booked at the county jail on suspicion of public intoxication, possession of a zip gun, and for being a felon in possession of ammunition.
