Narcotics, Body Armor and a Cache of Weapons Located During Probation Compliance Check

REDDING – The Shasta Inter-agency Narcotic Task Force (SINTF) arrived at a residence on WindSong Lane for a felony probation compliance check at 6:30 PM on July 22nd.  Upon their arrival, the probationer, Eric Scott Brown (35) of Redding who was on probation for a felony fire-arm related offense,  was nowhere in sight and did not make his presence know to the officers.

Brown was later located in a travel trailer. While Brown was detained, agents searching the trailer found methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, numerous firearms holsters and cases.

A large quantity of assorted calibers of ammunition was also discovered. Based on Brown’s probation status , agents received consent from the property owners to conduct a more thorough search of the premises.

SINTF Agents discovered seven firearms (4 rifles, 2 shotguns, and a revolver.) Several of the firearms had obliterated serial numbers. One of the firearms turned out to be stolen.

Also seized, was a ballistic vest and additional ammo. Agents arrested Brown for transport to the Shasta County Jail.

Brown’s initial booking included included possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Added was possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of ammunition by a felon and possession of a ballistic vest by a felon.

Brown’s future includes additional charges to be filed by SINTF.
