A man was arrested after allegedly trying to stab victims to death at two different parks in Ontario.

The suspect was identified as 27-year-old David Joseph Moreno of Ontario. Police believe he committed the first stabbing at about 10:20 AM on Wednesday, July 24, 2019. The incident took place at De Anza Park, where he reportedly attacked a man for no apparent reason. “The victim was able to fight off the attack but did receive a non-life threatening injury to his neck,” the release read.

The second incident occurred about 40 miles away at Cypress Park, where Moreno used a knife to attack another man, whom he reportedly knew beforehand. This man also sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Moreno was still armed with a knife when police located and arrested him a few hours later at the corner of Euclid Avenue and Budd Street in Ontario. Using information gained from prior contacts and other investigation, police were able to apprehend Moreno at about 1:00 PM.

His girlfriend, 21-year-old girlfriend Taylor Willis of Ontario, was present and arrested as an accessory to attempted murder, though she was later released “pending further investigation.”

Moreno, on the other hand, is being held at the West Valley Detention Center on two counts of attempted murder.
