On July 25th, 22-year old Juan Carlos Pinones-Salazar was chased down by Fresno County Sheriff Deputies near a Motel 6 on West Dorris Avenue in Coalinga.

The Motel 6 had just been robbed and Pinones-Salazar was their prime suspect. Once deputies caught up to him, he tried to fight them off but was eventually placed under arrest.

Deputies found a knife and the money just stolen from the Motel 6. He had to be treated by EMS personnel for cuts and scrapes after which he was transported to the Fresno County Jail.

Additionally, Pinones-Salazar is suspected of twice robbing the 76 gas station on Dorris Avenue, not far from the Motel 6, on July 15th and 17th. He is also suspected of attempted robbery of a Dorris Avenue Best Western customer on July 23rd.

Pines-Salazar remains at the Fresno County Jail as of 07/31/2019 facing charges for robbery with bail set at $230,000.
