UKIAH – A physical fight between a man and a woman on July 6th shortly after 10:00 p.m. prompted numerous people to call the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to scene, located at 155 Laws Avenue, and found a female and a child at the residence. 28-year-old Oscar Sanchez drove away from the immediate area.

Sanchez and the victim had attended a wedding together earlier and upon returning to the Laws Avenue location, an argument escalated between them.

During the incident, the female took the child out of the vehicle and Sanchez then drove off.

Deputies found Sanchez in Hopland, and found out that he been drinking while at the wedding. He also was on probation “with a term to obey all laws.”

Sanchez was arrested for domestic violence and probation violation, booked into Mendocino County Jail and held on $20,000 bail.

Once at the jail, deputies found a small amount of cocaine in Sanchez’ possession, and a possession of a controlled substance charge “was added to his booking.”
