The night of Monday July 8th, Evan Borum, a 21-year old from Tulare, is alleged to have robbed “The Habit Burger Grill” in Tulare.

When Tulare Police officers arrived at the food establishment, they were told Borum contacted the employee working the register with a box cutter in hand, demanding the employee hand over cash.

As officers were searching the area for the described suspect, a report of a suspicious man near the Tulare Outlet Mall was made.

The suspect did not make it far before the officer caught up and arrested him. Still in possession of the box cutter and the stolen money, Borum was identified by an eye witness as the robber of the burger joint.

Borum is faces charges for second degree robbery, petty theft, and assault with a deadly weapon. As of July 16th he remains in custody at the Bob Wiley Detention Facility with his bail set at $55,000.
