COSTA MESA- The Safety Department at Orange Coast College received a report on the morning of June 19, 2019, that a “suspicious man” was hiding in the bushes near the E Lot of the school.

According to the press release, he was “looking over the wall of the OCC Children’s Center while indecently exposing himself.”

The suspect, identified as 23-year-old Sungyoun Jung, was “combative” as Campus Safety attempted to detain him, which eventually required the use of pepper spray.

For the protection of all who belonged on the campus of the OCC Early Childhood Lab School and Children’s Center, the sites were put on lock-down until the suspect was taken into custody by the Costa Mesa Police Department a short time later.

Police transported Jung to the Costa Mesa Police Department jail and booked him on charges of indecent exposure, child annoyance, possession of unlawful drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance, and an out of area warrant.
