Search warrants lead to the location of suspect in May 26th shooting

KELSEYVILLE – On June 11th the Lake County Sheriff’s Office served search warrants at two locations – at Third and Gaddy Streets, and Hohape Avenue.

The objects of their searches were 29-year-old Juan Manuel Renteria and 23-year-old Sergio Alberto Fuentes.

The pair were wanted in connection to a shooting that occurred in Soda Bay on May 26th.  The pair are also confirmed gang members  from Los Angeles.

After the search warrant was executed, Renteria was located and arrested. Also confiscated was a club believed to have been used in the May 26th attack. Renteria was arrested for being in possession of a billy club. His bail is $500,000.

Other agencies that assisted in this operation were the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Gang Task Force, the Sheriff’s Major Crimes Unit, SWAT Team, Lake County D.A.’s Office, and Lake County Probation Department.
