MERCED – An investigation by the Merced Police Department’s Gang Violence Unit has resulted in the arrest of a gang member allegedly selling drugs from his home.

They identified Louis Medina as their suspect and procured a search warrant.

On Friday May 31st, that search warrant was served at Medina’s home on 11th street in Merced.  During the search officers confiscated multiple items including a 9 mm handgun, ammunition, cocaine, a digital scale, packaging material and cash.

The 28-year-old Medina is already a convicted felon and as such was not allowed to possess the firearms that were located at the house.  He was placed under arrest and booked on charges of narcotics sales, child endangerment, gang enhancements and firearm charges.
