OLIVEHURST – During the evening of  Friday May 10th a drive-by shooting occurred in the 5700 block of Alicia Avenue. Although nobody sustained any gunshot wounds during the incident, officers were able to get a description of the car that was the source of the shots, as well as its four occupants. It is not clear at this time whether the shooting was gang related or not.

Soon after, a Yuba County Sheriff Sergeant spotted a car that matched the description provided by one of the drive-by shooting witnesses. The officer stopped the gray 2005 Honda Coupe on Erle Road.

All four individuals in the car were identified as the drive-by shooting suspects. In addition, one of the occupants was in possession of ammunition, and a loaded handgun was also located in the vehicle. The gun had been stolen out of Nevada. All four suspects were placed under arrest and taken into custody.

Three of the suspects are juveniles from Linda and Olivehurst. The fourth suspect is 21-year-old Jorge Sotomayor-Sanchez of Olivehurst. All four face charges for assault with a firearm and conspiracy.  Sanchez also has weapons and drug charges.
