NEW YORK – 38-year-old rapper Remy Ma served 6 years in jail for her part in a shooting, and was released in 2014. She has been on parole since that time.

On May 1st,  Ma turned herself in to the police and was booked on a misdemeanor assault charge that stemmed from an incident last month in which she allegedly struck Brittney Taylor at a concert.

Taylor starred in “Love & Hip Hop in New York.”  This case is a concern for Ma because it could be determined to be a parole violation. If she is found to have violated the terms of her parole, she could face more jail time.

Until her day in court, Ma has an 8:00 PM curfew and has been ordered to have no contact with Taylor.
