Suspect in lewd acts with minor case from 2016 arrested in San Diego

PORTERVILLE – Tulare County Sheriff Office deputies were dispatched to the Tule River Reservation in December 2016 about a suspect who had reportedly committed lewd and lascivious acts on a minor under the age of 14.

An investigation began, and later on in November of 2017, a $250,000 warrant was issued for 40-year-old Buddy Joe Sabedra.

Then, on April 26th of 2019 detectives with the  Sheriff Department’s CATTCH Unit, came across information that Sabedra might be in the San Diego area.

With the help of the US Marshals Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force, a surveillance operation was conducted, leading to the suspect’s arrest in the 4700 block of Wilson Street in San Diego.

Sabedra will be returned to Tulare County where he will face charges of committing lewd and lascivious acts with a minor under 14 years of age.
