CLEARLAKE – The Clearlake Police Department identified it as “a civil standby related to an ongoing Code Enforcement Case” that brought them to a residence in the 3600 block of Risher Drive.

Once on scene, the officers made contact with 38-year-old Shawn Fox , at which point they observed a handgun protruding from his pants pocket.  As a convicted felon, Fox is not allowed to possess a firearm.

Fox resisted arrest and reached for his firearm. However, the arresting officer was able to subdue him and Fox was placed under arrest and subsequently booking into the Lake County Jail.

Fox now faces charges for being a felon in possession of a firearm and felony resisting a police officer.
