SJPD has arrested three juvenile hit-and-run suspects
SAN JOSE — The San Jose Police Department has made an arrest in connection to a hit-and-run that led to the death of a San Jose resident. “On Friday, April 5, 2019, at about 6:39 PM, San Jose police officers responded to a felony hit and run traffic collision in the 4000 block of Park Paxton Place in San Jose,” according to Sergeant Enrique Garcia. “The investigation revealed that the occupants of the vehicle met up with the victim.”
The investigation into the incident determined that there were three juvenile suspects, all at the age of 16, responsible for hitting the victim. Video from nearby residents was able to identify three juvenile male and female suspects and the vehicle in which the driver and two passengers were seen pulling forward after hitting the victim. One female passenger was seen prying the hands of the male victim from the car before the male driver fled the scene.
The 17-year-old victim, Patrick Montgomery, was taken to a local hospital where he died from his injuries on Saturday, April 6, 2019. On April 17, 2019, homicide investigators obtained a search warrant and were able to arrest all three suspects without incident.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Sergeant TJ Lewis or Detective Brian Meeker of the San Jose Police Department’s Homicide Unit at 408-277-5283. Persons wishing to remain anonymous may either call the Crime Stoppers Tip Line, (408) 947-STOP (7867).
