LOS BANOS – Early on the morning of March 27th a Los Banos Police Department officer spotted what he deeded a suspicious truck, so he ran the plates on it.

It turned out that the truck was reported stolen out of Buttowillow, so the officer called in backup. The truck drove into a gated property in the 1200 block of F Street.

34-year-old Micheal Lee Desa was arrested and then officers obtained a search warrant for the property where they nabbed him.

They then discovered “three additional stolen vehicles, stolen acetylene tanks, fuel pumps, stolen tools and 14 stolen propane tanks.” Investigators traced these items to burglaries at four different area businesses.

Desa was booked and held in lieu of a 80,000 bail.
