A 30-year old Coalinga resident has been arrested on charges of annoying or molesting a person under the age of 18. The juvenile is a student at Coalinga High School where the suspect, Adolfo Sandoval, was employed as a security guard.

On February 24th, when officers learned inappropriate conduct may have taken place, they spoke with the 17-year old juvenile and her parents. The juvenile stated the relationship had begun a few months back.

The details the juvenile used to describe the relationship between her and the Coalinga Huron Unified School District employee were not conducive of an appropriate relationship between adult and minor.

With her and her parents’ permission, officers looked through her phone and found texts exchanged with Sandoval from that day. The student told officers she had deleted previous texts. Her phone was taken to the Department of Justice office in Fresno to be analyzed further.

With an arrest warrant granted by the Fresno County District Attorney’s Office, officers took Sandoval into custody during a traffic stop on the 200 block of Jefferson Street in Coalinga on noon, March 12th. He was questioned at the Coalinga Police Department then booked into the Fresno County Jail with bail set at $5000.

He was released on bail on March 13th at 12:45 PM.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact the Coalinga Police Department or the school district administrators.
