PETALUMA – On Saturday afternoon on McNear Avenue and Petaluma Boulevard South a collision occurred that included the deployment of an airbag.

Thankfully no injuries resulted from the accident. However, as officers took their reports from those involved, they smelled alcohol on the breath of one of the motorists.

22-year-old Callie Johnston “displayed signs of impairment.” she was arrested for DUI. Her blood alcohol level approached 0.16%, twice the legal limit.

Police had here vehicle towed, and Johnston was “released with a citation to appear in Sonoma County Court.”

The PPD “reminds you to drink responsibly and to use either public transportation or ride sharing if you have been drinking.  A DUI will result in suspension of your driving privilege, increase in insurance premiums, and well over $10,000.00 in fines, not to mention the risk to life and property.”

A Facebook commenter asserts “What they failed to mention is, the OTHER driver in this accident actually ran a red light and hit HER. Not the whole story here.”
