61-year old Ronald Gene Thomas was picked up by Porterville Police on Tuesday February 19th. On that day, police were called to the Veteran’s Park where Thomas was accused of whistling at multiple underage girls.

Furthermore, it was reported he attempted to contact and lure female juveniles, even placing two chocolate chip cookies on the outer side windshield of his van.

Two underage females, a 13 and 15-year old, identified the van where Thomas was sitting. Police ran his name and found he was a convicted sex offender from Arkansas. His crime was lewd and lascivious acts with a minor under the age of 14.

As a convicted sex offender, Thomas is required to register every time he moves and every year on his birthday. However, as a transient, he is required to check in with authorities every 30 days, which he failed to do.

Thomas is currently at the Adult Pre-trial Facility. He is charged with annoying or molesting a child, failure to change registration address, and failure to update transient status. His bail is set at $600,000.
