Subway Robber Arrested the Following Day

PORTOLA – On February 3rd the Subway store in Portola was robbed by a single suspect. His getaway vehicle was spotted as he left the scene and its description was put out for law enforcement to be on the lookout.

The next day around 4:00 p.m. the Lassen County SD contacted the Plumas County SD about their locating that getaway vehicle traveling on 395.

At the Shell gas station in Doyle the Lassen County deputy “made contact” with the driver of the suspect car. 43-year-old Johnny Anthony Dagnino was detained and arrested.

In Dagnino’s car deputies recovered two guns, one of which matched the description of the gun used in the Subway robbery.

The suspect weas charged with robbery with his bail set at $100,000.
