Rusty Lee Love, Orange County ridesharing driver, jailed for rape

Perversity knows no boundaries, as seen in the incidents leading up to the arrest of a Huntington Beach, California, ridesharing driver. The driver, identified as Rusty Lee Love, aged 52, was booked into Orange County Jail on December 21, 2018, on three charges of sexual assault against developmentally disabled persons. He later posted bail of $50 000.

Rusty Love is accused of one count of rape, one count of digital penetration of a developmentally disabled person and one count of oral copulation of a developmentally disabled person. The man assaulted the three disabled adult female victims in their Costa Mesa homes in 2017 and 2018 while providing unlicensed massage services. The victims, who initiated the charges against Love, had previously been acquainted with him.

Costa Mesa Police Department detectives arrested the suspect on December 21st in the 20000 block of Beach Boulevard in Huntington Beach.

Over the course of the case, Costa Mesa police detectives learned of the man’s employment as a driver for taxi alternatives operating between Orange and San Diego counties. The investigation is ongoing and Costa Mesa police detectives are seeking potential additional persons whom Love may have violated.

Anyone with additional information, or who believes that they have been a victim, is encouraged to contact CMPD Detective Rob Dimel at (714) 754-5363.
