SACRAMENTO – Early in the morning of October 31st a woman was shot in the 5800 block of Antelope Road.

Deputies responded to the retail shopping center and found the woman with a gunshot to her upper body. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation began immediately. Miles away, on the 210 freeway in southern California, a Burbank PD officer came upon a vehicle collision involving several vehicles.

As the officer ran a check on the license plates of the involved vehicles, he discovered that one of the vehicles was “wanted in connection with the homicide investigation.”

That was when 38-year-old Miguel Romo took off. Other officers assisted in chasing and apprehending Romo near Foothill Boulevard and Sayre Street.

Romo was arrested and charged with the woman’s murder. He has not been offered any bail. Romo is also reportedly on parole from state prison.
