FONTANA – Day shift Officers with the City of Fontna Police Department travel with a special and potent addition – K-9 Ozzy.

“Don’t run from the police when K9 Ozzy is on duty,” warned Fontana PD.  Ozzy has skills that make him trouble for people who run.

In once recent instance, a stolen-vehicle suspect ignored this advice, and ran from Officers during a traffic stop yesterday. K-9 Ozzy held tight in anticipation while the perimeter was set.

Next, K-9 Ozzy sprang into action, to show his best moves and detect the odor of the suspect. The anonymous man was located hiding in a backyard shed at the rear of the property.

Subsequently, Ozzy’s sniffing and determined scratching at the shed door caused the suspect to cry out in surrender. The man began shouting, “I give up!” Lesson learned.

The K-9 Patrol took the suspect into custody without incident. The suspect was escorted to lock-up.
