Police Investigating Attempted Strong Arm Robbery in Park

PALO ALTO – The PAPD asks the public to be on the lookout for a suspect wanted in an attempted strong arm robbery. The suspect ran from the scene after injuring a woman at a local park.

According to the PAPD, on October 10 a call came in reporting that a man had just attacked a woman at a local park.

The young woman had been walking through Eleanor Pardee Park at 851 Center Drive in Palo Alto. That is when a six-foot-tall suspect pushed the woman from her side, causing her to fall to the ground.

The young woman reacted riotously when the suspect started to reach down and try and reach into her pockets.  Swinging her arms, she was able to deter the suspect from taking anything from her. She rolled away from the suspects grasp.

The victim described the suspect as “a light-skinned male about 40 years old.” Detectives continue their investigation of this case.

“Anyone with information about this incident can call our 24-hour dispatch center at 650-329-2413.”
