GRASS VALLEY – Apparently Jason Ortiz had drugs for sale in his vehicle. A detective, knowing Ortiz as a parolee-at-large, spotted him in a shopping center on September 20.

The detective also knew that Ortiz had warrants for his arrest. Soon the detective stopped him in order to search his vehicle.

In the first place,the vehicle contained –

  • 3 ounces of meth;
  • 100 drug baggies;
  • heroin;
  • paraphernalia;
  • ammunition.

Subsequently, Ortiz’s charges include –

  • parole violation;
  • outstanding warrants;
  • possession of a controlled substance for sale;
  • transportation of a controlled substance for sale;
  • possession of drug paraphernalia;
  • felon in possession of ammunition.

As a result, GVPD says, “He is currently being held without bail pursuant to the threshold of his warrants.”

Investigators also found a large amount of stolen property in the vehicle.  Finally, the GVPD says they will post photos of property “to hopefully identify any potential victims.”
