SACRAMENTO – Motel gunshots rang out on August 31 at 1:30 a.m. and the SPD responded on site to Massie Court.
Officers noticed gunshot holes in the door of one the hotel’s rooms. They evacuated surrounding rooms and other officers came and set up a perimeter.

Then they heard another gunshot come from inside of the room. SWAT arrived, as did the Crisis Negotiation Team.
Furthermore, the suspect inside fired other shots and refused to exit the room.
Finally, around 10:00 a.m. 38-year-old Kennedy Nguyen came out to face arrest. He left behind an assault weapon, firearm magazine and a box of ammo.
Nguyen’s charges are felon in possession of a firearm, assault with a deadly firearm and possession of an unregistered assault weapon.
