PORTERVILLE – A PPD sergeant found himself arrested for molesting a minor member of the PPD Explorer program.
On Sunday night a call came in to TCSD about a suspicious vehicle at Jay Street and Baker Avenue. Actually two cars parked there in front of each other.
In one of the cars a deputy spotted an adult male and a teenage girl. The man identified himself as 33-year-old off-duty PPD sergeant Wayne Martin.
The 17-year-old girl “told deputies that she is an Explorer with the PPD.”
Deputies arrest Martin and charged him with three counts of annoying or molesting a minor under 18. His bail is $150,000.
The press release says, “Sheriff Mike Boudreaux has asked Kings County officials to house Martin at the Kings County Jail. (This is because) Sergeant Martin likely has people he has arrested in the Tulare County Jail.”
