SAN ANDREAS – Apparently they grow illegal marijuana in Calaveras County too.  On September 5 the CCSO Marijuana Enforcement Team went to the 1400 block of Leonard Road.

At the suspected residence, deputies discovered 187 marijuana plants and 82 pounds of processed marijuana. They also discovered “evidence of marijuana sales and shipping.”

Furthermore they found “an illegal high capacity magazine and firearms.”

Investigators deemed that the residence had “unsafe and substandard occasions.” For that reason they also contacted the county Code Compliance.

Also, investigators sent two large dogs to Animal Services and a 17-year-old to Child Protective Services.

As a result, they arrested 50-year-old Nicholas Speziale.  His charges include –

  •  felony child endangerment;
  • maintaining a place for the purpose of unlawfully selling, giving away, or using any controlled substance;
  • marijuana cultivation and sales;
  • possession of a high capacity magazine.

Speziale’s bail is $100,000.
