Stolen Cargo Trailer Spotted and Recovered by PPD

PORTERVILLE – The PPD recovered a stolen cargo trailer on September 9 at 6:00 a.m.  A call came in concerning the trailer on the 900 block of South Indiana Street.

As officers arrived, the trailer left, pulled by a white Ford Explorer. The Explorer driver accelerated and tried to drive away from the officers, driving recklessly.

As the driver twisted and turned, his vehicle overturned and hit into a fence.

It didn’t end there. The passenger, 19-year-old Sean Nordin and got and tried to run away. It only lasted for a “short distance.”

The driver, 36-year-old Jamie McCool, exited the vehicle without injury.

Charges include –

  • Evading Peace Officer;
  • Auto Theft;
  • Burglary;
  • Possession of a Stolen Vehicle;
  • Conspiracy;
  • Possession of Stolen Property;
  • Possession of Burglary Tools;
  • Resisting / Delaying a Peace Officer;
  • Arrest Warrants.

Nordin’s bail is $95,000 and McCool’s bail is $170,000.
