NOVATO — Authorities arrested a man suspected of drug trafficking at local shopping centers, after conducting a month long undercover investigation.

The Marin County Major Crimes Task Force acted after receiving information in August about drug dealing activity. Right off the bat, it organized an undercover investigation focusing on shopping centers and nearby areas.

Specifically, undercover agents monitored shopping centers along the Redwood Boulevard corridor. And it didn’t take long before investigators were able to arrange a cocaine purchase with the suspect.

After making the cocaine deal, next, authorities obtained a search warrant for the suspect’s residence. A special drug enforcement squad executed the warrant at a home on Rosewood Drive, near Scottsdale Pond and Highway 101.

Inside the suspect’s home, authorities located and seized cocaine, ecstasy, digital scales, and packaging supplies. They also seized a handgun and some cash as evidence.

In addition, Novato police assisted in this drug law enforcement operation, overseen by the Marin County Sheriff’s Office.

On September 6, authorities arrested the suspected shopping center drug dealer. The suspect identified as Saman Ibrahimi, 25 of Novato, is also suspected of selling illicit drugs in the neighborhood where he lives.

After booking, Ibrahimi is no longer in custody. The charges he faces include possession of a controlled substance for sale, and the transportation or sale of narcotics.
