REDWOOD VALLEY -The carjacking began in front of Eagle Peak Middle School in the 8600 block of West Road. It was August 27 at 4:00 p.m.

Arriving deputies contacted Jarvais Primus, the victim. At first the report stated that an unknown male ambushed him.

The suspect produced a pistol and stole Primus’ rental vehicle, “which contained a large amount of U.S. currency.”

Further investigation revealed that Primus was in the process of purchasing shake marijuana in order to process it into oil. His business legally sells Vape pens and marijuana oil in California and Georgia.

The press releases states, “Upon further questioning Deputies suspected a mutual friend of Primus might have been involved in the ambush. Deputies identified the unknown male adult as being John Bellotti Jr., who was the husband of the mutual friend.”

Primus and Bellotti Jr. “knew each other from prior contacts.”

A Fish & Wildlife officer spotted the stolen vehicle as it drove north on Highway 101.

A pursuit began that went on to Willits but law enforcement lost sight of it. Law enforcement did finally discover the vehicle, abandoned on Dos Rios Road.

The next day Belotti came of his own accord to the Sheriff’s office Ukiah station and surrendered. After his arrest, Belotti now faces charges that include carjacking, robbery and evading.  His bail is $75,000.
