GUERNEVILLE – 22-year-old Tristan Proto said “he doesn’t like the Sheriff’s office.” Therefore, on August 3 he lit and threw an M-80 under a parked patrol car that morning.

It started earlier when Proto and his friend, with whom he had been staying for a few days, took meth.

Then they went into town, but then the two got into an argument and went their separate ways for a while.

That was when Proto saw a SCSD car parked in the Safe way parking lot. The deputy said he heard “a loud explosion that rattled the windows.”

Proto ran, but not far. An off-duty PD officer from Vallejo assisted by tackling the suspect.

It was then that Proto gave his explanation.

His charges include using an explosive with intent to injure. Also, he violated probation for three previous drug charges. Finally, he added a resisting arrest charge. His bail is $78,000.
