‘Unknown Trouble” Call is Actually a Murder in Riverside

RIVERSIDE – An “unknown trouble” call came in on July 28 just after midnight. RPD officers arrived at the 3300 block of Lime Street.

Inside the converted garage they discovered an elderly man “in medical distress with suspicious injuries.”

Paramedics tended to the inured man who nonetheless died from his injuries.

The victim’s caretaker came to check on him but the door was locked. Then, a male suspect came out of the garage, with the injured elderly man inside.

Detectives arrived and arrested 18-year-old Juan Barraza and charged him with murder and elder abuse. He has no bail.
