CHICO – The Street Crimes Unit exists to help curtail “auto thefts, drug dealing, bike theft and habitual retail theft.”

Last week the Unit made thirty one arrests for a seven-week total of 183. In brief, the focus of the team’s efforts are on the Esplanade and One Mile Recreation Area.
In brief, here are four of the recent arrests –
- 43-year-old Markee Harris at 8th Avenue and Esplanade. He had an outstanding warrant from Oregon;
- 30-year-old Lucas Manion at South Park Drive for an outstanding warrant and carrying a knife;
- 44-year-old Damon Young at East Avenue and Esplanade. His charges are possession of a controlled substance, possession of paraphernalia and violation of probation;
- 30-year-old Daniel Diaz at 8th Avenue and Esplanade for possession of controlled substance and probation violation.
