HOLLISTER – Two people stole some Safeway drugs and tried to drive away recently, but didn’t get far.

It happened on the night of July 5 at the Safeway on 591 Tres Pinos Road.  The person who called the police gave them a description of the thieves and their getaway car.

A HPD officer quickly spotted the fleeing vehicle and stopped it. Then 19-year-old Melique Carter and 18-year-old Annalisa Kapisi of Vallejo found themselves under arrest. They were both already in probation.

Their car contained “several boxes of over-the-counter medications and other items.” Further revealed that they had also stolen from Safeway stores in Prunedale and Half Moon Bay.

The stolen property totaled $3,300 in worth.

The par’s new charges are grand theft and conspiracy.

The HPD thanks the “accurate and timely information” that the store employee provided. If anyone has any further information they can call HPD at 636-4330.
