Gang Member Sells Drugs From His Home

MERCED – A gang member sold drugs from his home, and the MPD found out about it. Then the Gang Violence Suppression Unit (GVSU) got busy.


Officers arrived at the home in the 1400 block of Louise Avenue.  61-year-old John Castellanos then received a search warrant from authorities,

The search warrant produced 2 ounces of heroin, packaging material, a digital scale, needles, a Billy club and cash.

Therefore police arrested Castellanos, as well as 25-year-old Sophia Carr. Their charges include possession and sales of heroin and possession of a Billy club and metal knuckles.

Castellanos also faces gang enhancements to his charges.
