YREKA – An armed midnight car-jacking occurred on June 16 at the Raley’s Shopping Center.

That night a man and his wife sat in their vehicle when a white pickup drove up and blocked them in. Then a male with his face covered by a white bandanna jumped out and demanded their money.

When they told him they had no money, the suspect pulled out a gun from his waistband. He then “ordered the couple out of the vehicle.”

The thief followed the white pickup away from the scene. The pickup contained at least 4 other people.

Because of an unsuccessful carjacking the night before, law enforcement had already “formulated leads on the identity of the suspect.”

Consequently police located the white pickup at a trailer park in the 1300 block of Fairlane Road. It had “multiple suspects” inside of it when law enforcement arrived.

The victim came and identified 18-year-old Devan Daniel Wylie as the carjacker. He also identified 22-year-old Nathaniel Marquez-Griffin.

The duo face “a multiple of felony charges including carjacking and conspiracy.”

Officers recovered the reporting party’s vehicle. It was “covered with a tarp less than 50 feet away from where the suspects were contacted.”

Certainly, his case is currently still under investigation. Please contact the Yreka Police Department with any information linked to this case.
