Burglary suspect adept at opening apartment complex doors

PALO ALTO – The PAPD is on the lookout for a burglary suspect adept at opening apartment complex doors.

On June 30 a call came in about a “burglary in progress in the 3200 block of Curtner Avenue.”

The suspect is a white male in his twenties, about 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing about 160 pounds.  The female resident went to do a few errands just before 8:50 am. A half-hour later she arrived at her apartment to find the front door open and an interior light turned on.

Upon entering her apartment she saw and startled the man. He then began to rush out of the apartment. He shoved the female victim into the wall in order to run past her and escape.

Despite catching the suspect in the act, he was able to steal money and jewelry from the victim.  According to the PAPD, the suspect is dark haired and clean shaven. He was also wearing gloves, a grey long-sleeved sweatshirt, and black pants. The suspect drove away from the scene and investigators could not find him near the area of the burglary.
