AUBURN – A man attempted to elude officers in a high-speed pursuit, even after hitting the spike strips.

On Sunday night June 17 34-year-old Blaine Green began fleeing from a deputy in Granite Bay.  His speeds in the ensuing chase reached 90 to 100 mph.

The chase continued, “even after the successful deployment of spike strips.” However, “he eventually slowed down.”

Still, the slower speed did not mean at first a surrender.  Green continued on until Auburn-Folsom Road and Tribute Circle.

Once officers searched Green’s car, they discovered a police scanner.  He used this device “to evade capture during the pursuit.”

Officers deemed the suspect to be under the influence of a controlled substance. He possessed pills, meth and drug paraphernalia.

Green’s charges include evading police and drug DUI. He also had a Sacramento County warrant out on him.
