2 Separate Incidents of Weapons Possession, 6 Arrests

STOCKTON – Between 1:00 am  and 2:00 am on Monday July 2, SPD came upon two separate incidents of weapons possession.

In the first place, and with little fanfare, police stopped 24-year-old Billy Xayaseng near Hickock Drive and Cody Way.  The suspect had “a loaded handgun with an extended magazine.”  He faces a weapons charge.

The, within the hour, officers tried to srop a vehicle nera Iris Avenue and Etna Street. This time, the vehciel took off. Once the car finally did stop, one of its occupants briefly ran away. He found himself arrested “after fighting with officers.”

Turns out the carload committed a petty theft just before encountering law enforcement.  22-year-old Enrique Avalos has traffic charges, weapons charges and petty theft.  18-year-old Alejandro Canal has weapons charges and petty theft.

Those same two charges apply to a 17-year-old male, 17-year-old female and 16-year-old female in the car.
