VALLEY SPRINGS – On a night of intrigue, the CCSO made four arrests after a pursuit that followed an armed robbery.

On Sunday evening before 7:00 pm, a call came in concerning an armed robbery of cash, marijuana, and a white van.  The victims identified the suspects as multiple black and “middle eastern” males.

Then, a deputy spotted ” a group of vehicles matching the description” given. As is so often the case, an attempted traffic stop became a chase. A CHP officer joined the chase, specifically of a black Range Rover.

During the chase, one individual exited the vehicles it traveled at a high rate of speed.  That individual died on scene from his injuries.

The Rover continued on, then crashed into some trees and a fence on Highway 12.  Two black males jumped out and ran, for a while. Here is where K-9 Thor joined the pursuit.

Additional pursuers found the stolen white van and detained its two occupants.  The van contained “a large amount of evidence tying them to the robbery.”

Thor helped locate the other two runners.  Here is who officers arrested –

  • 32-year-old Mark Noble from Lincolnwood, Illinois;
  • 38-year-old Dontia Anderson from Spokie, Illinois;
  • 41-year-old Talia Khio from Roseville, California;
  • 29-year-old Roddy Johnson from San Diego, California.

The SCSO describes the other two suspects still at large as possibly Armenian. They also say that “it appears to have been an organized pre-planned crime.”

Of the six victims, one required hospital treatment for “severe injuries.”  The suspects bound, threatened, beaten and tased the victims.

The quartet face charges of armed robbery, conspiracy, assault, battery, kidnapping, false imprisonment and torture.

Also, “Due to the death of one of the subjects, the Sheriff’s Office will be reviewing potential homicide charges.”
