DESERT HOT SPRINGS – DHSPD nabbed a Desert Hot Springs attempted murder suspect on June 11.  33-year-old Jeffrey Grant Hammer Jr. shot someone on June 10 and fled police, for a day.

The shooting occurred in the 66700 block of Eighth Street. An adult male had “a gunshot wound to the upper body.”  Responders took the victim to Desert Regional Medical Center.

On Tuesday morning detectives received information concerning Hammer’s whereabouts. The report was that he was hiding in the 66300 block of Seventh Street.

It turns out the suspect surely was at that location. They arrested him without incident and charged him with attempted murder.

Hammer’s bail is $1 million.
