MAMMOTH LAKE – A shooting at 343 Hillside Drive resulted in one injury and one death. The person who called 9-1-1 suffered a gunshot wound to his stomach.

Responders on scene then heard a report of what happened from the caller.  34-year-old Samuel Coner Gilman said that he struggled with the shooter, 60-year-old Malcolm Gregg Jolley.

Gilma said that Jolley shot him in the stomach. He then struggled with Jolley over the gun. Finally, he wrested the gun from Jolley and fatally shot him.

Officers located “a .45 caliber handgun along with shell casings.”

Gilman is “unconscious but stable” as he receives treatment at a Reno hospital. The pair were roommates at the location.
