JURUPA VALLEY – A parolee compliance check on a gang member resulted in two charges for 24-year-old Francisco Arnoldo Chavez.

His charges are robbery and being a felon in possession of a loaded firearm.

The Check

On May 25, the Riverside Gang Task Force conducted the PRCS compliance check in the 3000 block of Pioneer Boulevard.

During a residential search, police contacted Chavez and discovered him in possession of a loaded handgun.  They identified him as a criminal street gang member on parole for robbery.

While at the residence, police received a report of a recent armed robbery involving a handgun that occurred in the area where Chavez was being arrested.

Connecting the Dots

Chavez matched the description of the suspect in the robbery and was later identified by the victim. Investigators identified the handgun Chavez had in his possession when he was arrested as the weapon used in the robbery.

Authorities booked Chavez on charges of robbery, felon in possession of a handgun and a parole violation.
