RIVERBANK – A deadly officer-involved shooting occurred on Tuesday morning in Riverbank.
The shooting occurred on the 7000 block of Burneyville Road. A 9-1-1 call came from a residence there concerning an ex-tenant who had been evicted and returned.
51-year-old Armando Osuna refused to leave the property. He then attacked the two deputies who responded to the scene, hitting one of them with a metal pipe.
Then, one of the deputies shot Osuna in the upper torso. He unfortunately died hours later at a Modesto hospital.
The injured deputy was treated at a hospital and released. The SCSD announced that “three separate and independent investigations have been launched into this officer-involved shooting.”
